Poverty warrior, you must focus your own life on stability. When my kids were small we went to a lake where they had a dock. They loved jumping off of the dock and swimming back over to the ladder and doing it again and again. The youngest was still pretty young and could not yet swim. No problem. I went out near the dock, he would jump and I would catch him and swim him over to the ladder. This worked great but I guess that when fatigue started to creep in I was moving slower than I had been. My son jumped and I did not yet get back around and have my feet planted. While I had directed him to always wait until I told him that I was ready, he was too excited. But without solid footing I was not able to really catch him so he went deeper than before and I barely got to him. He could have drown because my feet were not planted.
The same is true for you poverty warrior, you need to establish protocols in your life that will stabilize you so that you can help those that are in risk of drowning. In studying the great leaders in Scripture and in the post Biblical portion of history that have fallen I have found a common denominator. While the public fall seems very sudden, it actually happened with lots of small choices. David chose not to go to war when kings went to war. Then he chose to let his mind follow his lusty flesh. Then he chose to ignore solid information. Lots of little choices. You, poverty warrior, must establish some basic habits that will keep you strong.
Luke 2:52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
Set up a solid protocol that will be similar everyday that touches on something physical, mental, spiritual, and social. Establish a solid routine wake up time and then figure out what you can do that will keep you stable in those four areas. When I wake up I take vitamins and drink 16 ounces of water (physical). I follow that up with 2-3 minute warmup workout that I call my AM Launch (physical). From there I then journal (mental and spiritual). Once I have journaled, I pray, mediate and read my Bible (mental and spiritual). After the reading I do a daily full body workout (physical). Then I serve my wife by caring for her chickens (social). When it is the right time I wake my wife up with a cup of coffee (social). All of these activities are done daily to launch my day into a state of stability. When done consistently I feel like my feet are planted. When my feet are planted I am ready to help those that are caught up in poverty.
