2 Corinthians 13:11 “Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.”
As a child, I was NOT a high-quality big brother. I mostly thought of my siblings as a distraction from what was really important, namely ME. However, as I matured, I came to recognize that we were actually on the same team. Together, we could face a wide assortment of trials and tribulations and come out stronger on the other side.
As a devoted believer in Jesus Christ, I take seriously my role as a member of the body of Christ. I am not living this life in service to myself. The assorted churches in our community are not distractions or competition. Together we can not only take on the challenges in our community, but we can also create a picture of Jesus that will draw men and women who are running away from God to the Savior.
What would it take for us to work together to demonstrate the unity of the Kingdom of God in our community?
Pastors, we can work together! What I propose is that you allow myself or a member of the GRM staff to speak to your church and/or small groups about the connection between serving the poor and loving Jesus. We have 2- and 4-week small group classes (perfect for giving that Sunday School teacher a break) or we can speak 5 minutes of introduction to GRM and even preach a full sermon. Contact me to schedule your church. rich.schaus@grmok.org
