You now have a clear picture of who you want to be. That person is impactful, healthy and a positive force in your community. To build that image you have discovered your north star. Because of that north star you can find your direction after each storm. You have also committed 100% to do whatever it takes to live up to the dream of that ultimate version of you.
Now we are going to create a vision to fully reveal that person that is you to the world. When you are creating the exciting vision make sure to make it as real as possible. The vision needs to include the physical, mental, spiritual and social parts of who you are. As you create the story the more that you can include the five senses the more powerful it will be. Let me give an example.
The date is May 17,2047, late morning. Sunshine radiates around the banquet hall as I walk toward the doors with Cara, my wife. Because we are the main attraction a spot was set up close to the door, but since we are both healthy it was not really needed. Cara is wearing this incredible green dress that seems to highlight the sparkle in her eyes. I am wearing my military dress blues. The scent of spring is in the air as she walks on my left side. As we approach the doors, they swing open and we walk through. Instantly we are greeted by what must be 500 or more people. Smiles and applause fill the room. Cara and I both blush a little. Walking through the crowd we recognize many faces and greet these men and women as old friends. Some were obviously coming from poverty, others from wealth, most are in between. Among the crowd there are multiple races, languages and cultures represented. At one table I notice someone who I once saw as an enemy, and we greet each other as friends. Present, with smiles on their faces, are my children and grandchildren. They usher us to the head table. My children and grandchildren also take their seats at the head table. One of my grandchildren takes a moment to welcome everyone and then prays for the meal. Cara and I get to go through the buffet line first. The food takes me back to my childhood. There is fried chicken, mostaccioli, soft rolls, corn and punch. For dessert there is a large wedding cake. Each bite takes me back to weddings and fun with my cousins. I feel free to eat any of the food there because I am healthy.
After the meal we mingle with our guests and the conversation challenges and strengthens my mind. After everyone has eaten, the room is made for a dance floor. My son, James, brings out his accordion and leads us in a polka. We dance, we pray and we give glory to God for the celebration of 50 years of marriage. After several hours of visiting, dancing and much laughter; Cara and I go to our car and drive home.
At home we sip hot chocolate on our porch swing in our house that is paid off and in good repair.
