Let us not forget that Satan is prowling around like a lion, seeking whom he might devour. He is so filled with hate and rage that he works to consume people, some subtlety and others blatantly obvious.
Open your eyes to the techniques of the devil. It seems that his favorite tactic is to distract us from the will of the Father. Many people are walking the world as zombies. They stare at their phones, they waste endless hours watching the television. When I work with those in addiction I see the devil speak through them to change the subject routinely. No we are talking about freedom here. Freedom from the wiles of the enemy. No I don’t want to control you, I want you to be controlled by the Creator instead of allowing the devil to control the puppet strings in your life.
A second tactic is to distort the facts so that the person caught in sin simply cannot see the truth. Like an illusionist they will say that they lost the job because the boss was jealous or your were just too smart for those people. Of course you did not lose your job or get turned down for the promotion because you did mediocre work and called in sick dozens of times.
When that fails, the enemy will seek to divide out their captive. Like a pride of lions they isolate the weak and get them alone. Those in sin will leave all that is known to include family and even community. Often times the church plays a role in this by putting the homeless on buses and sending them to other communities. In those new communities they are alone and will be picked off.
From the beginning the devil has been a liar. He deceives and manipulates until the truth is unclear.
Tell a lie loud enough and long enough and people will believe it.
Adolf Hitler
When a person is alone it is very easy for them to get discouraged. Sin has created a reputation that they will find difficult to overcome. They apply for a job and will be turned down because the background check or the reference is telling the truth. Discouragement is a powerful driver to get many to accept their prisoner status and give up.
It is up to us, the body of Christ to rise up and battle alongside these people to help them defeat the enemy. We cannot do it for them and they cannot do it without our support. Will you join them?
